Water is our Mother

Water is our mother …
we emerged from her cradle,
the sea, millions of years ago.
Our first nine months of existence
took place in the waters of the womb.
Perhaps this is why people feel
such an affinity for water.
The sounds of the ocean waves are
echoes of the blood rushing through
the placenta, the familiar sounds of
the first few months of our existence.
